SyncMovieFrame for Cinema 4D
(written and tested on Mac OSX 10.6.7 for C4D R12)
What can it be used for?
This plugin can be used whenever you need to synchronize animations of objects with actions taking place in a movie file used by a material. Imagine this scene:
On a TV set we can see an exercise video playing back. A 3D character is supposed to dance in sync with the movie on the TV screen.
What does it do?
Normally, if you have a movie file in the color channel of a material and apply that material to an object, preview will always show you the same frame of the movie no matter which frame the timeline is set to. SyncMovieFrame can be attached to an object which uses this material and will synchronize the movie frames in the material with the frame of the timeline.
How do I use it?
Insert any object into the scene. Create a material, apply a movie to the color channel and apply this material to the object. Make sure the object is selected and click on the tags menu. From the tags menu select SyncMovieFrame2 to apply it to the object. Check the attributes dialog to make sure the tag is turned on (which is the default).
